The Touch Fee Payments-Understanding the Cost

New Touch Football Fee Structure: Clearer and Fairer for Players
To simplify and streamline costs, the governing bodies for Touch Football have introduced a new, direct player registration system. This change ensures you only pay your state and national membership fees once per year, no matter how many competitions you play in.
Effective from July 1, 2025, the fee structure for all players in affiliated competitions will be broken down as follows:
-
Your Club Registration Fee: This fee covers the direct costs of running the competition you are playing in.
-
Annual Membership & Insurance Fee: A single, annual payment of $52.00 that is paid directly to the governing bodies when you register for your first competition of the financial year
This annual fee combines two separate components:
-
Touch Football Australia (TFA): $22.00 for your national membership and insurance coverage.
-
New South Wales Touch (NSWTA): $30.00 for your state membership.
How the System Has Changed
Previously, your membership and insurance fees were bundled into your local club’s registration fees for every competition you entered. This meant that if you played in multiple teams or competitions, you were paying these governing body fees multiple times.
The new “pay once, play often” model was introduced to create a fairer and more transparent system for all participants.[1][2]
Why the Fees are Broken Down
By separating the club registration fee from the state and national membership, you now have a clear understanding of where your money is going. Your local club only charges you for the cost of running their competition, while your annual membership and insurance are handled directly by NSW Touch and Touch Football Australia. This new structure means you are covered to play in any affiliated competition across the state for a full year after paying the annual fee.
